Greek Tragedy
I thought that I was Theseus
And the world was a maze for me
To escape.
Either through wit or through death.
I thought maybe I could be a hero…
A hero…
One who overcomes his obstacles
Only to realize,
Solely,
I thought that I was Theseus.
But in fact…
I was the Minotaur.
No more a man than a beast
No more a beast than a sinner.
Whose world was the labyrinth,
But the labyrinth was not the world.
Just a cage.
An obstacle not to be overcome,
But to become overwhelming.
For me to wander.
For me to wonder.
Still thinking I could be Theseus.
