Hot Hot Heat
It takes the light from the Sun approximately 8 minutes to simply reach the Earth.
And yet
When you walk in a room, I am blinded.
Instantly.
Sweating. Weak.
Gasping for air
Or at least your name to quench my thirst.
Begging to bask in beauty
For my tan lines of lost love need evening out.
But if you give me a glimmer of hope,
I know the second you leave, you’ll go dark.
And I’ll be left wondering if you’ll come around
If you’ll rise
And if I’ll see tomorrow.
It takes the light from the Sun approximately 8 minutes to simply reach the Earth.
And I can’t help but wonder
How lonely those first few minutes were.
