How Foolish I Was To Think Falling Was The End
How foolish I was
To think falling was the end
For the leaves that drop
Still drift
And dance
Despite knowing what awaits them
It’s never a crash
Or an earth shattering boom
They simply land softly
Gracefully
Taking time to catch their breath and wither
Before coming back in the spring
How foolish I was
To think we were the leaves
No, instead
We are the trees
Who stand tall
Even when the world strips us of our beauty
Even when we feel most vulnerable
Most exposed
So long as we remain
We will never fall
And we will be full
Again
