If Love Was A Motorcycle

Up until now
I’ve ridden in the sidecar

With the wind on my face
Hair blown back
Enjoying the view
Passing me by
As if I was flying
Through time

And although I loved it
Feeling free

It hurt to finally realize
I never knew what it felt like
To drive
And I had to accept
That I’ve only ever
Been taken for a ride

With no control over my destination
While at the mercy
And speed
Of the one who promised
To take me back home
