Le tour du monde

Even though I couldn’t swim, I still dove in after you.

Hoping my muffled mewling

Would travel faster underwater.

But as I watched from underneath,

Seeing you swim,

Surfing towards saffron sunsets,

Never looking back. Never looking down.

I was left to sink into the trenches of myself

Not knowing what was at the bottom.

Just hoping I could at least meet you on the other side.
