Oreamnos Americanus
I used to love climbing Hills.
The ease of the hike
The serene stroll
To reach the peak.
And the feeling like I’m on top of the world
While I take in the view
For a few moments
Before descending back
Down to the ground.
But You made me love Mountains.
You showed me climbs can be work.
Dangerous.
Challenging.
And that the top is never guaranteed,
But every step
Can be more rewarding than the last.
Because you taught me
That some peaks
Have a view never before seen.
The kind you never want to leave.
