Scientific Method

I can’t show you how to love.

I haven’t quite figured out the balance

Between the word and the action

Like oil and water

Separated.

But I’ve felt it

And I’ve said it

Yet like magnets they push against the poles

Driving my head and my heart

Further apart

Until there is nothing left but empty space.

Space that no one has seemed to fill.

So I leave and start the experiment over

Hoping each time

The results will be different.

So no, I can’t show you how to love.

But I can certainly show you

That I’m trying.
