Snow Globe

I have seen faded faces
Through a dome of my creation,
Put in place for protection.
But for who, I still don’t know.

And when I’m shaken, it snows
But no two sorrows are the same.

With every reason to be cold
Yet I remain tepid.
Timid.

Singing songs on display
To distract from the fact
I’ve never felt more trapped.

For I long to be free,
But I long to be safe.

And I wonder just when I’ll realize
In here
I am more fragile than ever
