Yesterday Will Come Again

I spent so many nights/ Fighting skeletons and ghosts
Those figments of forgotten/ Mistakes I regret the most
But I’ll survive til sunrise/ Give my heart some chance to boast
Yesterday has come and gone

Yet faceless names keep calling/ And remark my every move
Demanding for some answers/ Like there’s something left to prove
Chains made of necessity/ I am shackled to behoove
Yesterday is here once more

The weary cannot slumber/ For their dreams will not come true
Despite their progress forward/ Constantly under review
But I pray the world forgives/ And returns the life they knew
Yesterday will come again

So I’ll spend these countless nights/ Fighting skeletons and ghosts
Those figments of forgotten/ Mistakes I regret the most
And I will see the sunrise/ For I earned the right to boast
Yesterday has come and gone
