You Must

It is in our nature to survive. To do what we must that we feel we must because this life must have more meaning.
All of our regrets, our mistakes, our entire pasts
Are littered with things we once felt, even for a fraction of a second,
That we must do.

Sure, it’s easy to mourn for the musts that we wish weren’t,
But every sin, every heartbreak, every error
Must happen.

They must, in order for you to become someone much more than past you ever thought possible.
You must forgive yourself for those musts.
You must accept yourself for those musts.
And you must believe in yourself to know
They must never happen again.
They will never happen again.

You must remember that time moves forward.
And to survive, so do you.

Life doesn’t give you a choice there.

You must.
