Hanging Gardens of Babylon

What gives power to the things
We let hang above us?

Our pasts
Our presents
Our hopes
Our dreams
Our sins
Our regrets
Our ideas
Our wishes

What gives them power
Is belief

For a subjective mind is made up
Before an objective thought can be brought up

And our opinions hold more weight
Than the impact those ideas will ever have

For the stronger you believe in them,
The more real they become

But the more real they become,
The tighter the grip they will have
On your heart

Belief
Is never a burden.

But what we believe in,
Well,
That is where our minds
Will start to wander
