Liquid Courage
She said “The night is still young!”
Yet it felt like forever
Since I last saw the Sun
Forgetting her features
Draped in dimly lit debauchery
Anchored by temptation,
But it’s the Sirens
Of a jukebox playing songs
From nostalgia
That pull me overboard
Into a freshly poured glass
And the world outside these walls
Seems so much smaller
Compared to the one
I envision
With The One
Sat beside me
So here’s to a night
That has just begun
And to the hope
It doesn’t grow up
As fast as we did
