Muscle Memory

I still say goodnight to you

I still sleep on my half of the bed

I still lean in for a kiss after I close my eyes

When no on is around,
That’s when I talk to you the most

And I know you aren’t here
And I know you’re far away

But part of me believes
If I continue through the motions
Like nothing ever changed
Then I can trick myself
Into thinking
I’m not alone
