The Ocean is My Favorite Sound

She speaks in waves
Of crashing wakes
Words splashing gently
On my cheeks

A dance so alluring
It beckons me
To lose myself
Submerged

Yet in time
She pulls away with the tide
Revealing the rocks and jetties
She hid so well beneath the surface

The ocean is my favorite sound
But I know if I dive
I’ll be lost
For the water is always colder
Than it looks
